Car boot sale stalls tell life stories told through things. I'm working on a series of images that capture the people and the objects. The best stalls are those where people have arranged around them items that are about to become their past. What they are discarding tells us about our lives in consumption - the same kinds of things turn up in stall after stall.
These images take different approaches. Here, I ask permission and buy an item from the stall (which I'll later include in a still life/collage). I love the girl's excitement.
Here, I use lomography and capture a mother and daughter (I assume) three hours into the sale in a moment of boredom..
I think they both capture something of experience - over the summer I'll no doubt settle into the style which works best for me.
